Santa delivers
It's unanimous! Christmas of 2022 was the best Christmas Yallambee has ever had!
We were blown away by the kindness of the people in our community who donated and wrapped toys, books and clothes to assist Santa to deliver to this trailer, ready to transport to the children on Christmas morning.
A big thank you to The Salvos as well for providing a present for each child.
The children couldn't believe that Santa actually remembered them this year! It must have been all that good behaviour and good school attendance that got Santas attention.
The children were beyond excited to unwrap their gifts and play with their toys. Everyone enjoyed a late Christmas morning breakfast cooked by the men in the community and funded by the kind donations of the wider community. We fed over 100 people a delicious hot breakfast that morning. It was a Christmas we will never forget.
Learning to swim
We are very happy to announce that after a big year of learning to swim we now have a community of very confident swimmers and a few that have made significant improvement. This is a huge priority for children who often play by the edge of a fast flowing river behind the Yallambee community.
Donations for school lunches
YACCA school lunches | Facebook
Please join this group if you would be willing to bake or donate some lunch foods for children in our “Improving School Attendance” project.
The aim of making our friends nice lunches is to help motivate them to continue going to school and so they can sit down and eat among their friends at school feeling proud of what is in their lunch box.
Believe it or not, when we struggle getting a child to go to school, the LUNCHBOX is what gets them in the car. They absolutely love it and it’s a crucial part of the program's success.
It is also a crucial part of keeping them healthy and when I tell them "people in the community who really care about you made these especially for you", it always puts such a big smile on their faces. It contributes to making them feel, loved, supported and cared about which is amazing for their confidence and self-esteem.
As we are a new association, we are still in the process of finding funding and grants. We are relying on the generosity of our local community to keep this going in the meantime.
We are so very grateful for any support you can provide.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
